Quilt/Stash Project-2020.....Determined Quilter

Saturday, February 13, 2010...Year 2....Week 26---Blog 41--Day l84 of 4,014

Project within a project:

Christmas 2010 Challenge Adventure

The Quilt/Stash Project-2020 is to:

..get all unfinished quilt projects completed

..use ALL stash and scrap fabric to zero

..not purchase new fabric unless absolutely necessary to complete a quilt

...by the year 2020...giving myself 10 years...

The Christmas -2010 Challenge Adventure is to:

...complete at least 20 quilts--probably "small' wall hangings and puppy/kitty quilts to sell at Christmas craft fairs at local senior centers by Christmas 2010

...use as many "ugly"-orphan scraps as possible; use as much "why-did-I-ever-buy-that??" stash as possible......and

NEVER buy new fabric....as using money to purchase fabric would defeat the purpose of somehow making a "profit" from the sale of some quilts.

...definitely this is a challenge and an adventure...because these "orphan" fabric quilts HAVE-TO-BE SALE-ABLE.

REPORT: Christmas-2010 Challenge Adventure

1...The top and %90 back of a 27 by 23 inch blue/white puppy/kitty quilt is completed (ANOTHER RAINING-FOGGY DAY PROVIDED HAPPY QUILTING TIME)....

and several scrap fabrics were actually used to zero; however some blue scraps are stubbornly TENACIOUS!!!--CONTINUING AND CONTINUING..oh dear!!!

2. a 19 by 28 blue/white/purple puppy/kitty quilt is (and has been for several months-years?) complete except for binding. This quilt includes left over blocks from a Sandi Cummings design-----a class project for Empty Spools Seminars in May, 2002....yes!!! 2002...

Ample testament as to WHY this project is necessary...

and...3.

The small (fitting into an ordinary 11 by11 inch plastic food storage bag) bundle of GREEN scraps keeps giving and giving.....at least THREE small GREEN wall hangings......FOR SALE: ANYONE INTERESTED???

Finally...Welcome!!! to Japanese comment-ors. Did I mention that the November--2009 trip to the International Quilt Show in Yokohoma (with TRAVELING TOGETHER) was my 63rd trip to Japan since 1993??

Schedule next week looks promising for quilting time....

Happy Quilting--Determined Quilter
