Quilt/Stash Project-2020--Determined Quilter

Monday, March 7,2011...Year 3...Week 82...Day 608 of 4,014.....Blog 79

A little over 2 months since last Blog (January 4, 2011)

and I am some disappointed in myself for not keeping this blog current...

No Excuses...well and explantion????

I have NOT been quilting regularly for a month--six weeks..because I have been focused on my other on-going project: Project Distribute-2026 which is another whole story (ProjectDistribute-2026.blogspot.com).

Currently I have in quilt "inventory" about 20 wall hangings which I am still wanting got get photographed...and on this blog....and about 8 puppy-kitty quilts...which have been shown on this blog.

The "news' however is: On Saturday, March 5, 2011..I attended 2 hours of a 6 hour seminar at my local Community College on how to sell my quilts on- line.

After the 2 hours..I had sufficient information to know that sell on- line was NOT for me..

However..I did learn a lot....the perferred site for selling handmade craft on-line...etsy.com..

Checking out etsy.com for "quilts"..I discovered that currently there were 33,644 quilts available for sale.

So I must find other venues....because mainly I will be selling my quilts in Marin County, California..Anyone interested in viewing my quilts please contact me at:DeterminedQuilter@gmail.com and we will arrange a meeting, probably at Civic Center
Library

THIS COMPUTER IS ACTING strange.Enough for today.

Happy quilting--Determined Quilter..... .::

QUILT/STASH PROJECT-2020--DETERMINED QUILTER

Tuesday, January 4,2011..Year 3...Week 73...Blog 78..Day 546 of 4,014

Year 3--REPRISE

THE QUILT/STASH PROJECT-2020 and this blog began, August 14, 2009.

Inspired by the movie-Julie and Julia...about Julie Powell's "adventures" in cooking all ??? recepies in Julia Child's famous book: The Art of French Cooking in one year and then blogging about it daily.....I decided....

Use EVERY FABRIC SCRAP...AND EVERY PIECE OF STACH FABRIC to zero WITHOUT purchasing any new fabric ..........and to blog about the task and the experience...

Evaluating the amounts of fabric--scraps and stash in boxes and drawers....I very wisely gave myself TEN years...plus..so until 2020.

All went liesurely..according to the original plan until mid summer 2010 when I discovered that a local Community Center was sponsoring a CRAFT SHOW, November 5th..

At that time the original goal was modified: and I spent the next 4 months working/sewing dilligently--daily-- to create inventory ...so I would have quilts to sell at the Fair.

...and I also DID blog as often as possible...

The Craft Fair was NOT a hugh sucess for me....3 wall hangings...and 3 puppy/kitty quilts sold...

But ever onward...the strategy since November, 2010 has been to first sue all the many...many..many usually tiny batches of scraps to zero..with sole focus on puppy/kitty quilts...

This is both a challenge to creativity...AND SO FAR.. AMAZINGLY REWARDING AND GRATIFYING... I HAVE COMPLETELY ABOUT 10 PUPPY/KITTY QUILTS; AND SOLD 4.

Some are shown on previous blog; new ones will come shortly...

So..a NEW YEAR...my current estimate is that...the scraps WILL be used to zero by Easter....

I hope be be a more consistent blogger..and photographer..

So invitation: come along with me...

IF you live in Marin County, California..and are interested in a puppy or kitty quilt...please contact me: Determined Quilter@gmail.com and we will arrange a showing/meeting..

So Ever Onward..HAPPY QUILTING!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
